Cheese Grading Administrator Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Cheese Grading Administrator to join our team at Dale Farm. As a key member of our dairy team, you will be responsible for facilitating the management and control of cheese stocks in a timely manner, ensuring customer satisfaction levels are achieved and stock is utilized at the optimum time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the electronic filing system for all grading-related paperwork, in line with our site Quality Management System.
  • Reclassify and allocate Grading sheets on Navision stock management system, to facilitate selection of the appropriate cheese against customer profiles and updating all associated records.
  • Select and allocate cheese for our internal and external customer base, working closely with the Dale Farm sales team.
  • Work closely with outside storage facilities to manage the return of cheese stock, ensuring the appropriate quantities of cheese are always available and accessible for cutting.
  • Liaise with production, stores, dispatch, and planning to ensure a good level of customer service.
  • Coordinate selection of cheese for cheese sample requests.
  • Complete and maintain department KPIs.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as part of an inter-dependent team.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above in Maths, English, and a science subject.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Proven experience of maintaining a database in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Highly organized with an excellent attention to detail.
  • Flexibility.
  • Proven experience of working as part of a busy team environment and showing initiative.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Degree in a Science or Food-related subject.
  • Experience of Stock Control processes.
  • 12 months experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Awareness of sensory analysis or taste profiling to taste cheese.

The successful candidate should be energetic, have excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a member of a team within a busy, high-volume department, handling a varied workload.
