We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Shift Engineer to join our team at The Stratford. As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Facilities Maintenance: Monitor and maintain the general engineering of our lofts, including attending to fire alarm calls and participating in fire fighting efforts.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment and following maintenance instructions.
- Record Keeping: Accurately record all necessary plant information and bring any defects to the attention of the Chief Engineer.
- Inventory Management: Monitor engineering stock levels and communicate low levels or required items to the Chief Engineer.
- Shift Activities: Maintain accurate records of shift activities in the respective log books or systems.
- Regulatory Compliance: Familiarize yourself with local Fire & Safety regulations and ensure compliance.
- General Maintenance: Carry out general maintenance as directed by the Chief Engineer.
- Handover and Reporting: Document and carry out handover at shift change, including keys, radio, phone, and all incomplete work orders or work in progress.
- Job Log System: Update the job log system with the status of all work orders within a timely manner.
- External Contractors: Liaise with external contractors who may be employed by the hotel to carry out maintenance work.
- PPMs and Projects: Ensure that PPMs are carried out regularly and support maintenance project works.
- Holiday Entitlement: 28 days holiday (including bank holidays) increasing 1 day per completed year up to 33 days.
