Job Purpose

The Senior Business Information Security Officer will play a critical role in our information security and transformation programme. As a single point of contact for our business areas, you will be responsible for understanding our strategy, interacting with group shared security services, and ensuring the security outcomes of our business units.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop an understanding of business goals to engage senior business leaders on information security and drive risk management decisions.
  • Act as the primary security point of contact for business leadership, delivering tailored advice to ensure the secure delivery of new projects and initiatives.
  • Facilitate security support to business projects, acting as the interlock between business unit project leadership and wider Group Security experts.
  • Proactively assess and review existing processes to deliver improvements to our security control posture.
  • Work with senior business leaders to integrate information security policies and standards with business processes.
  • Lead on ensuring our Financial and HR applications and services are deployed in line with relevant information security policies and standard process controls.
  • Effectively engage to ensure key contacts have a clear understanding of our information security strategy, roadmap, and programmes.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of our project roadmap and progress, providing regular updates to Group Security leadership to highlight key security concerns.
  • Manage the provision of ad-hoc security advice and support to partners.

Risk Management

  • Develop strong relationships to build a detailed understanding of security risks across the business.
  • Take accountability for the identification, assessment, and management of new and existing risks, balancing security with business priorities.
  • Regularly brief senior leadership on cyber threats and risks profile.
  • Support the timely reporting of risks to security and business leadership.

Culture and Awareness

  • Deliver against our overarching security culture and awareness strategy across Liberty Shared Services and supporting teams.
  • Build business awareness of emerging security threats and risks, developing a security culture throughout the organisation.
  • Regularly brief Liberty Shared Services leadership on progress against our information security strategy, roadmap, and programmes.
  • Identify key areas of focus for education and awareness campaigns using expert knowledge of the business.

Knowledge & Experience

We're looking for an experienced information security professional with a strong understanding of best practice information security controls and the potential impact on business operations.

Essential skills and abilities include:

  • Experience and knowledge of best practice information security controls.
  • Highly skilled at identifying security risks and exposures.
  • Experience of supporting the security review and secure deployment of HR, Finance, and Legal/Compliance applications.
  • Knowledge of cloud security controls and best practice with a focus on Azure and Google Cloud Platform environments.
  • Ability to see the bigger picture, considering the wider impacts of security decision making.
  • Experience of working with technical and non-technical partners to embed security controls in line with business risk appetite.
  • Exceptional communicator with demonstratable experience providing written and verbal presentations.
  • Able to work independently to deliver high-quality support to senior partners.
  • Excellent relationship management skills at all levels of the organisation.

Desirable skills and abilities include:

  • Experience of providing security advisory for automation initiatives.
  • Good understanding of security frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST etc.).
  • Good understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR, PCI DSS).
  • Good awareness of Security Architecture and Engineering, Security Operations, and Security Governance, Risk and Control (inc. Business Continuity Management).
  • Comfortable with interpreting technical requirements, regulations, and procedures and translating into clear messages for non-technical audiences.
  • Good team player that enjoys collaborative problem solving.

Preferred Education/Qualifications

Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)/Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)/Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
