Telecoms Engineer

Hitachi Energy UK Limited is seeking a highly skilled Telecoms Engineer - Automation Systems to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and engineering telecom and networking systems for our clients. Your primary focus will be on automation systems, SCADA, and HMI systems, as well as IT/OT infrastructure and cybersecurity. You will work closely with our external partners to ensure that our solutions meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineer telecom and networking systems for our clients.
- Collaborate with our external partners to ensure that our solutions meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
- Lead the design and technical solutions based on industry best practices.
- Ensure that specifications and guidelines are developed and used by our partners.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks to ensure a final result meeting contractual requirements.
- 7+ years of experience working in the field of Telecom & Networking.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in the UK.
- Hands-on experience with MPLS Telecom systems.
- Hands-on experience on high-level network design on P2P MPLS connections.
- Product knowledge on FOX615, Nokia MPLS systems.
- Network management, switches, and firewall configuration in line with project requirements.
- Certification in Networking & Cybersecurity is an added advantage.
- Involved in both engineering and commissioning activities in previous roles.
- Experience in Hitachi's product portfolio is a merit.
- Good communication skills for technical interactions with partners, internal, and external.
- Bachelor of Engineering, M.Sc. in Electrical engineering, Computer Science, or another relevant area.
- Proficient in English for international communication.
