Mental Health Support Specialist

Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Protocol Education. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in helping students with SEN and SEMH needs navigate their educational journey.
About the Role
As a Student Well-being Coordinator, you will work closely with students, teachers, and families to provide tailored support and encouragement necessary for students to succeed both academically and personally. You will offer one-on-one and group support to students, helping them build emotional resilience and well-being.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
- Providing emotional support to students with SEN and SEMH needs
- Assisting students with coping strategies for managing stress, anxiety, and other emotional challenges
- Helping students develop social and emotional skills to thrive in the school environment
- Working closely with teachers and special educational staff to create and implement individualised support plans
- Encouraging positive behaviour, self-confidence, and independence among students
- Supporting students to manage their mental health needs and providing a safe, supportive space when required
Salary Information
This role comes with a competitive salary of £85-95 per day, inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach to supporting young people. Experience in supporting students with SEN/SEMH or in a similar well-being or educational role is highly desirable.
