Job Description

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team at Job Switch as a Housing Needs Specialist.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to make a real difference in their community by preventing homelessness and providing high-quality support to those in need.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Provide expert advice and guidance to individuals facing housing challenges, working closely with them to develop personalized plans to prevent or alleviate homelessness.
  2. Collaborate with other agencies, including statutory and non-statutory bodies, to ensure seamless delivery of services and effective outcomes for customers.
  3. Manage and maintain accurate records within our computerized systems, ensuring timely updates and compliance with legislative requirements.
  4. Negotiate positive resolutions with accommodation providers and agents to secure suitable housing solutions for our customers.
  5. Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of our service, promoting best practices and consistency across the organization.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the social care sector.
  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant field, such as social work or a related discipline.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with legislation governing housing and homelessness, particularly the Housing Act 1996 Part 7.

Salary Information

The estimated salary range for this position is £28,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience. This figure is based on national averages for similar roles in the UK.
