Job Overview

The EngineeringUK Communities and Social Policy Unit is a collaborative team of professionals who work together to address structural inequalities across the capital. As a Policy and Equalities Support Professional, you will play a leading role in supporting the development and delivery of key policy and programme areas in the Equalities team.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to and support the delivery of flagship projects such as Building a Fairer City and the Workforce Integration Network's Design Lab programme.

About the Role

The post holder will work with colleagues across the wider EngineeringUK organisation and with external stakeholders to support the delivery of the Mayor of London's work to reduce inequalities. This will involve project management, event organisation, communications, data collection, and supporting procurement processes.

  • Provide general administrative support to the Equalities team, including:
  • Administrative support to team meetings.
  • Contributing to effective communication and information systems.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing high-level administrative support to the Equalities team.
  • Supporting the Equalities team by participating in communications and engagement projects.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for the Equalities team, handling high-level enquiries.
  • Developing and maintaining effective networks and partnerships.
  • Contribute to the team's business planning, budget, and performance monitoring processes.
  • Supporting communications on policy issues related to the Equalities team.
  • Manage resources and perform functions in accordance with GLA's policies.
  • Promote equality of opportunities and diverse needs.
  • Participate in cross-departmental and cross-organisational groups.
Person Specification

We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of delivering administrative support to senior staff in a high-profile organisation.
  • Evidence of providing administrative and project support to major events.
  • High competence in Microsoft Office packages.
