Quality Engineer Job Description

Goodfish Group, a leading contract manufacturer of plastic and composite components, is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our New Product Introduction (NPI) team at our Cannock site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the NPI team in managing quality aspects of new projects, ensuring smooth transitions of new products
  • Develop professional working relationships with customers, including dynamic problem-solving throughout each project
  • Program the Hexagon metrology machine to measure new parts as new projects come on board
  • Aid with prototype and pre-production manufacturing runs to identify and implement new processes and resolve quality concerns
  • Promote lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools where needed during the project process
  • Suggest and implement continuous improvement ideas from a quality perspective for NPI projects
  • Identify and support procurement of new tools required for new projects/production
Requirements:
  • Experience in a similar role in the automotive or aerospace industry
  • Ideal training in the 5 automotive quality core tools: APQP, MSA, FMEA
  • Experience of working in plastic injection moulding is desirable, although training can be provided
  • Demonstrable automotive project management experience would be an advantage
