Purchasing Administrator Role
The Purchasing Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting the Buyer and Senior Buyer in sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management to meet the organisation's requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Evaluation & Market Research: Assist the Buyer in identifying potential suppliers and researching market trends and shifts in supply and demand.
- Supplier Relations & Negotiation Support: Help maintain supplier relationships and assist in negotiating terms and agreements. Provide updates on orders, delivery time-lines, and any arising issues.
- Order Processing & Inventory Coordination: Prepare and process purchase orders according to company policies, monitor inventory, and work with Inventory teams to keep stock levels balanced.
- Order Tracking & Reporting: Track orders to ensure on-time product delivery, prepare reports and summaries for the Buyer and Procurement Manager, and maintain accurate purchasing records.
- Financial Tracking & Compliance: Help track procurement expenses and savings, ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory standards.
- Issue Management: Communicate any business-impacting issues promptly to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in English, Math, and IT, with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience in procurement or administration, ideally in Manufacturing or Engineering.
- Basic understanding of market research, data analysis, and purchasing principles.
- Strong organisational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work autonomously.
