Job Summary:

CRA GROUP LIMITED is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Permit Officer to join our team. As a Permit Officer, you will play a critical role in the operation and management of our Council Permit Scheme for Roadworks and Streetworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and process permit applications accurately and efficiently within agreed timescales, ensuring compliance with Statutory Guidance and National Conditions.
  • Coordinate permits, working collaboratively with a team to resolve conflicts, refusals, or variation requests, and liaise with utility companies to achieve satisfactory conclusions.
  • Assist in the processing of Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders, Roadspace Bookings, and Licenses, working closely with Street Works Officers.
  • Maintain precise and accurate records, adhering to permit procedures, NRSWA, and TMA legislation.
  • Support investigations into Section 74 and FPN matters, including determining responsibility, charge liability, and correspondence with utility companies.
  • Manage fees, fines, charges, and FPNs, ensuring compliance with New Roads and Streetworks Act, Traffic Management Act, and associated Statutory Guidance and Codes of Practice.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004, and Statutory Guidance and National Conditions for Permit Schemes.
  • Experience with computerized street works database systems, analyzing and inputting street works notices/permits.
  • Significant experience with computerized mapping systems.

Additional Information:

This role is located in a hybrid working environment, allowing for a balance between remote and office work. The successful candidate will be based in the UK and will be required to work closely with the team to achieve the goals of the Council Permit Scheme.
