The CRA GROUP LIMITED is seeking a highly skilled Permit Officer to join our team in Hudington, Cambridgeshire. As a Permit Officer, you will play a crucial role in the operation and management of the Council Permit Scheme for Roadworks and Streetworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and process permit applications accurately and efficiently within agreed timescales, ensuring compliance with Statutory Guidance, National Conditions, and the Cambridgeshire Permit Scheme.
  • Coordinate permits, working collaboratively with the team to resolve conflicts, refusals, or variation requests, and liaise with utility companies to achieve satisfactory outcomes.
  • Process Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders, Roadspace Bookings, and Licences, working closely with Street Works Officers to ensure seamless operations.
  • Maintain precise and accurate records, adhering to permit procedures, NRSWA, and TMA legislation.
  • Assist in investigating Section 74 and FPN matters, including ascertaining responsibility, charge liability, and correspondence with utility companies.
  • Manage fees, fines, charges, and FPNs, ensuring compliance with New Roads and Streetworks Act, Traffic Management Act, and associated Statutory Guidance and Codes of Practice.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004, and Statutory Guidance and National Conditions for Permit Schemes.
  • Experience with computerised street works database systems and mapping systems.
