We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer Radiological Characterization Specialist to join our team at ENGIE. As a key member of our Radiological Characterization team, you will be responsible for conducting radiological characterization studies, developing and applying strong capabilities with computer codes, and contributing to the preparation of bids and engineering studies.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct radiological characterization studies according to the needs and expertise level expected by dedicated authorities.
- Develop and apply strong capabilities with computer codes such as MicroShield, MCNP, or RayXpert, as well as in-house Python calculation codes.
- Write technical specifications and follow-up of orders for the procurement of measurement systems and radiological campaigns.
- Develop a strong expertise in the field of radiological characterization based on national and international references.
- Share knowledge and experience with clients and colleagues to ensure alignment concerning work to be realized and setting the right expectations.
- Maintain knowledge, expertise, and methodologies required to accomplish missions.
- Deliver 'quality on time' by getting all support required in terms of technical training, coaching, and availability of (IT) resources.
- Verify work performed by colleagues, guaranteeing the expected high quality level.
- Correctly apply Integrated Management System (IMS) procedures.
- Provide regular feedback concerning ongoing activities to team lead and hierarchy, while working autonomously towards goals defined.
- Identify and implement possible synergies with other teams and/or Competence Centres.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical bids.
- Provide (internal) presentations and trainings.
- Participate actively in regular meetings with colleagues, discussing workload, technical issues, project follow-up, development strategy, and transversal activity coordination.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- You have the drive to become a technical expert in this field.
- You have a master's degree or PhD in engineering or sciences, preferably in physics, with a strong technical background and a will to further develop your technical expertise.
- You are proficient in English. Knowledge of French is a plus.
- You have relevant experience (at least 3 years), preferably in the nuclear industry, expertise in data processing and analysis, or Contract Owner is desirable.
- You are flexible and creative in finding technical solutions.
- You are autonomous and you like teamwork.
- You are open to gain new competencies as well as to share them.
- You are at ease with IT-tools and familiar with the relevant software and codes such as MicroShield, MCNP, RayXpert. Python knowledge is considered as a plus.
