Key Responsibilities:

  • Copyediting of manuscripts for language and readability
  • Checking factual content and dealing with queries
  • Assessing authors' responses to edits and editorial comments
  • Involvement in the peer review process, including identifying problems with plagiarism, animal ethics, patient consent, and figure manipulation
  • Collaboration with the wider scientific community and internal teams

Requirements:

  • PhD in the biological sciences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage high-quality work while working to tight deadlines
  • Ability to maintain a level of scientific knowledge appropriate to the role
  • Strong IT skills
  • Editorial or publishing experience is desirable, but not essential
