Role Overview

We're seeking a dedicated and experienced social worker to join our team as an Independent Assessing Social Worker. In this self-employed role, you'll have the flexibility to work from home and play a key part in guiding prospective foster carers through the assessment journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of applicants' suitability to become foster carers, using the Fostering competency-based assessment format.
  • Present completed assessments to the Fostering Panel in a clear and concise manner.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate visits with applicants, referees, and agency contacts, and keep management informed of any adjustments.
  • Complete assessments within agreed timelines and promptly report any delays to the Registered Manager.

About You

  • Essential requirements include a full, clean driving license, Social Work England registration, and a willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
  • Prior experience in fostering assessments is essential.
