Superintendent Radiographer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Superintendent Radiographer to lead our Imaging Department at HCA Healthcare UK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring the highest quality of care is provided to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Department Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Imaging Department, ensuring alignment with the hospital's goals and values.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest quality of care is provided at all times, including the provision of high-quality imaging to our consultants and liaison with relevant radiologists to optimize image quality.
- Safety and Compliance: Oversee all aspects of safety to both patients and staff, complete and review risk assessments, and lead on the observation and compliance of safety checks, procedures, and policies to ensure a safe imaging environment.
- Staff Management: Provide emotional and professional support to staff, assist with the recruitment and management of MRI staff, including staff appraisals, sickness management, training, retention, disciplinary matters, and support of staff.
- Service Development: Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures within the radiology department, ensuring all staff work within these guidelines.
- Expansion and Development: Assist with the set up of the new MRI unit, ensuring protocols are optimized and staff training is in place.
- Regulatory Compliance: Be involved in the MRI Non-Ionising Radiation User Group and report into the Local Radiation Protection Committee to ensure the department is compliant with relevant legislation.
- Education: Degree in Diagnostic Radiography (or equivalent).
- Experience: Extensive experience in MRI desirable, with knowledge of processes and procedures in radiography.
