Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced social worker to join our team as a Social Work Apprenticeship and Development Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of social work in our community while advancing your own career.

Main Duties of the Job

As a Social Work Apprenticeship and Development Coordinator, you will work closely with the Social Work Apprenticeship and Development Lead to manage and support our growing Social Work Apprenticeship programme within Adult Social Care. Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating the recruitment and onboarding of apprentices, ensuring they receive top-quality education and support throughout their training.

About the Role

You will be responsible for overseeing the placement process, making decisions to match apprentices with appropriate opportunities and addressing any issues that arise. You will also collaborate with higher education institutions to maintain high educational standards and represent Wiltshire Council in relevant meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the recruitment and onboarding of apprentices
  • Ensure apprentices receive top-quality education and support throughout their training
  • Oversee the placement process and make decisions to match apprentices with appropriate opportunities
  • Collaborate with higher education institutions to maintain high educational standards
  • Represent Wiltshire Council in relevant meetings

Person Specification

We are looking for a social worker registered with Social Work England, with substantial post-qualification experience. Ideally, you will have experience as a Practice Educator or ASYE Assessor. Strong communication, problem-solving skills and a solid understanding of social care policy are essential.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Practice Educator (PEPs) trained, and/or experience as an ASYE (Assessed and Supported Year in Employment) Assessor
  • Experience of assessing social worker student placements and/or ASYE SWs and coordination
  • Experience of working in partnership with service users, other professionals and agencies
  • Experience of undertaking and applying research to inform practice
