Empower Family Group: Supervising Social Worker Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join our team in Somerset, covering the Southwest Area. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting our Foster Carers and ensuring the well-being of children and young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, assess, and monitor the suitability of Foster Carers, ensuring they meet our high standards.
  • Provide regular supervision and support to Foster Carers, helping them to evidence their competence against training standards.
  • Conduct support visits and contribute to Foster Carer Annual Reviews, ensuring timely completion.
  • Ensure Foster Carers have accurate and up-to-date Foster Care Agreements.
  • Identify learning and development needs, providing opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Undertake initial visits and carer assessments, ensuring a thorough understanding of each Foster Carer's needs.
  • Attend meetings to support Foster Carers, children, and young people, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Assist in the delivery of training, helping to develop the skills and knowledge of our Foster Carers.
  • Participate in our Out of Hours duty system, providing emergency support and guidance to Foster Carers and children.
Requirements:
  • CQSW, Diploma in Social Work, or BA in Social Work qualification.
  • Experience working with children and families, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing competing demands and priorities.
  • Initiative and self-reliance, with a flexible approach to providing effective support to Foster Carers.
  • Commitment to personal self-development and training, with excellent assessment and analytical skills.
  • Proficient communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional time management skills, with a professional approach to organization and prioritization.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
