About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Adult Social Worker to join our team at Somerset Council. As a key member of our Family Safeguarding model, you will work alongside adult-focused practitioners to inform assessments and plans in specialist areas such as substance misuse, domestic abuse, and mental health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake direct work with children and young people to hear their voice and understand their experiences.
  • Work with parents and the wider family network to support them to identify strengths, tackle problems, and change interactions and behaviors.
  • Collaborate with permanent Team Managers to receive regular and reflective group and personal supervision.
Requirements
  • Qualified social worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Substantial experience working with children and families in social work.
  • Up-to-date technology skills to stay connected to your team and manager through virtual meetings, team check-ins, and service sessions.
  • Full driving license and access to your own vehicle for travel.
