We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join our team in Somerset, covering the Southwest Area. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting Foster Carers and ensuring the well-being of children and young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, assess, and monitor the suitability of Foster Carers, ensuring they meet our high standards.
  • Provide regular supervision and support to Foster Carers, helping them to evidence their competence and develop their skills.
  • Conduct support visits and contribute to Foster Carer Annual Reviews, ensuring that our Foster Carers are equipped to provide the best possible care.
  • Identify learning and development needs, providing training and guidance to Foster Carers to enhance their practice.
  • Undertake initial visits and carer assessments, ensuring that our Foster Carers are suitable to care for children and young people.
  • Attend meetings to support Foster Carers, children, and young people, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Assist in the delivery of training, sharing your expertise with colleagues and Foster Carers.
  • Participate in our Out of Hours duty system, providing support and guidance to Foster Carers and children and young people outside of regular working hours.
Requirements:
  • CQSW, Diploma in Social Work, or BA in Social Work (Essential)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable car with business insurance (Essential)
  • Relevant Post Qualifying Awards (Desirable)
