About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Supervising Social Worker to join our Ofsted rated Outstanding South West Team. As a Senior Supervising Social Worker, you will be responsible for supporting and supervising foster families to meet the complex needs of looked-after young people.

You will work with a therapeutic and trauma-informed approach at the core of our fostering service, enabling successful placements and promoting positive development for children and young people.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in working with and on behalf of children, respecting and maintaining their individuality, and promoting their positive development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and supervise foster families to meet the complex needs of looked-after young people
  • Work with a therapeutic and trauma-informed approach to enable successful placements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with foster families, children, and young people
  • Contribute to the development of our fostering service, including policy development and training
  • Participate in regular supervision and team meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration

Key Requirements:

  • Appropriate social work qualification
  • Up-to-date registration with Social Work England
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience in fostering/family placements or other childcare settings
  • Experience in supporting and supervising foster families
  • Proven track record in working with and on behalf of children
