- About the Role
The successful candidate will be working within our Trauma Orthopaedics team, responsible for leading and managing a team of qualified and unqualified staff to assess and treat patients post fractures and operations.
This role offers the opportunity to develop into a Band 7 role, taking a lead role in planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating the physiotherapy service provided to patients within the Trauma Orthopaedic specialty.
The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the role of physiotherapy within the inter-professional team and ensuring that good communication exists with medical, nursing, and other professional staff.
Key Responsibilities
Take a lead role in planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating the physiotherapy service provided to patients within the Trauma Orthopaedic specialty.

Person Specification
BSc or Diploma in Physiotherapy
HCPC registration
Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio including attendance at recent postgraduate courses relevant to the clinical field
Clinical educator training in respect of undergraduate students
Training in PDR and staff appraisal
Requirements
Significant experience at Band 6 level and able to further develop skills and demonstrate advanced level of skills in musculoskeletal field
Delivering in-service training programmes
Proven experience of leading effective teamwork as part of a physiotherapy team and/or multi-disciplinary team within the NHS
Experience supervising and clinical education of more junior staff, students, and physiotherapy assistants
Desirable
Working at Band 6 level in acute and community settings
Knowledge of the workings of community physiotherapy services and experience of working with GP practices and referrals
Involvement in audit, research, and understanding quality issues and implementing change as a result
