Job Title: Principal Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Summary:
Electus Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of environmental monitoring equipment used in various industries such as green shipping, marine science, agriculture, and defence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design authority for all electronic, software, and mechanical design activities.
  • Support the Director of Engineering in management of design and development projects by undertaking some project management tasks as well as bid and business development work.
  • Assign tasks to the Mechanical Design team, set project goals, negotiate with vendors and clients, ensuring projects stay within time and budgetary restraints.
  • Mentor the team.

Requirements:
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering (2.1 or higher) or equivalent with experience working as a mechanical design engineer in a high technology engineering environment.
  • A sound understanding of engineering disciplines (mechanical, electronic, and software understanding) with expertise in mechanical design.
  • Project management skills – an ability to plan and allocate budgets and resources.
  • Experience of developing and leading a design team.

Overview:

Principal Mechanical Design Engineer
Salary: £50,000–£75,000
Location: Yateley, Hampshire
Hybrid Working After 3 Month Probation (Preference for On-Site Working)

Due to the nature of work undertaken at our client's site, incumbents of these positions are required to meet special nationality rules and therefore these vacancies are only open to British Citizens.
