Principal Mechanical Design Engineer

Position: Principal Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Hampshire, UK
Salary: Up to £75,000 per annum

About the Role:

As a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing innovative mechanical systems and components for advanced defence applications. You will lead a team of engineers, provide technical guidance, and ensure the highest standards of engineering excellence are met. Your expertise will drive the success of projects from concept through to completion, ensuring they meet stringent requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components for defence projects.

* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers.

* Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards and regulations.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs.

* Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technical reviews.

* Prepare and present technical documentation and reports to stakeholders.

* Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements to drive innovation.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

* Proven experience as a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer in the defence industry.

* Strong leadership and project management skills.

* Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.

* Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

* Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with stakeholders.

* UK born candidates only due to security clearance requirements.
