We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmaceutical Education and Training Specialist to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy education, with experience in developing and delivering training programs for healthcare professionals.

As a Pharmaceutical Education and Training Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping the delivery of our multi-sector foundation program, including the inclusion of independent prescribing competencies.

You will work collaboratively with Health Board sites and Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) to ensure the successful delivery of the program.

In addition, you will provide clinical services on site, including dispensary, ward-based clinical care, and prescribing services where applicable.

The successful candidate will be appointed to either an Advanced Pharmacist - Band 8a (Permanent) or Clinical Pharmacist - Band 7 (Secondment 12 months) role, depending on qualifications and experience.

During the training period, you will undertake a series of competencies as well as on-the-job training. On successful attainment of the competencies, you will be appointed to the Clinical Education Lead and Speciality Pharmacist Band 8a role.

This is an excellent opportunity for an advanced practicing pharmacist with leadership experience in pharmacy and passion for education to influence the way we develop our future workforce.

The post holder will have a senior role within the Health Board, responsible for shaping the delivery of our multi-sector foundation program, including the imminent inclusion of independent prescribing competencies.

They will also undertake core directorate activities and provide a patient-facing role at Morriston hospital.

The successful applicant will join an expanding and award-winning team of core educators across the pharmacy division and be a role model for the profession and a champion for education.

The salary for this position is estimated to be between £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post, but English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
