Role Overview

This Senior Children Services Practitioner role is an exceptional opportunity to join the London Borough of Croydon's dedicated team, making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families. Reporting to the Team Manager, you will lead by example, providing leadership of practice through exemplary direct work, staff development, and expertise in a given area of practice.

As an expert practitioner, you will directly deliver or contribute to delivering positive safety and well-being outcomes for children, supporting other staff within the team to develop their level of practice and expertise. You will have a developed ability to deliver on outcomes and function as a role model for your team through the effective exercise of key functions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for engagement and relationship building/maintaining, case holding, analytical and continuous assessment, high-standard report writing and case recording, making professional judgments and recommendations based on assessment and review, and the provision of direct help supports to children and their families.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is approximately £54,000 per annum, with a highly competitive compensation package including accredited systemic practice training, a range of CPD opportunities, 29-31 days annual leave, a pension scheme with an average employer contribution of 20%, and more.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England, have knowledge of national policy, strategy, and developments regarding children's social care, relevant legislation, statutory guidance, standards, and procedures, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You will also be expected to maintain records that evidence engagement with children and families, inform the quality assurance framework, and provide quantitative, qualitative, and outcome information for the children and families, as well as their views and experiences.
