Are you a recent Criminology Graduate looking to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children? We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Mental Health Support Assistant at a specialist mental health provision just outside of Reading.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for working with children who have been exposed to trauma and adverse childhood experiences. As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will work closely with students on a one-to-one basis, helping them prepare learning materials, checking on their welfare, and increasing their independent living skills. You will be part of a dedicated team that provides support and guidance to students socially and emotionally, aiming to ensure they do not enter the criminal justice system.

The role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain essential experience needed to train as an Educational Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Behaviour Therapist or Speech and Language Therapist in the near future. By working in a specialist mental health school, you will gain first-hand insight into mental health and neurodiversity, learn to identify the risks and needs of each child, and ensure they meet the milestones set for them.

  • Working in a specialist mental health school
  • Opportunity to gain essential experience for further training

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children. If you are a recent Criminology Graduate with a desire to work in a supportive and rewarding environment, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
