Special Educational Needs Practitioner

Role Overview:
This Higher Level Teaching Assistant will work within a residential school catering to children and young adults with Autism, social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Safeguarding: Adhere to school policies and safeguarding guidelines to ensure the well-being and safety of pupils.
- Learning Support: Assist teaching staff in implementing a comprehensive curriculum and provide individualised support to pupils.
- Positive Interactions: Foster strong, positive relationships with pupils to create a secure and engaging learning environment.
- Assessment and Progression: Contribute to assessing pupils' progress and providing constructive feedback.
Key Requirements:
- Teaching Assistant qualification at level 3 or above
- English and Maths GCSEs at grade C (or 4) or above
- Experience working with SEN, SLD/PMLD, ADHD, and ASD pupils
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour
- Previous experience within an educational setting preferred
- Work effectively in diverse environments.
