Job Title: Medical Staffing Team Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Staffing Team Lead to join our Radiology department at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide operational support for the medical workforce, working closely with the Clinical Director, training scheme leads, and Service Manager to develop and implement new processes and procedures for rota management, recruitment, and insourcing.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Rota Management: Develop and implement effective rota management systems to ensure optimal staffing levels and minimize gaps in service.
  • Recruitment: Source and recruit high-quality medical staff to meet the needs of the department, ensuring compliance with Trust policies and procedures.
  • Locums/Temporary Staffing: Manage the recruitment and deployment of locum and temporary staff to ensure adequate staffing levels during periods of high demand.
  • Deanery rotations: Coordinate and manage the rotation of medical staff through the Deanery, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption to services.
  • Honorary and Observer Contracts: Manage the administration of honorary and observer contracts, ensuring compliance with Trust policies and procedures.
  • Insourcing: Develop and implement strategies to reduce reliance on agency staff and increase the use of in-sourced staff.
  • Staff Activity Management: Monitor and manage staff activity, ensuring that all staff are utilized effectively and efficiently.
Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Educated to GCSE level with experience in administration.
  • A willingness to undertake further training.
Desirable Skills:

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent word-processing and spreadsheet skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience of working in a medical staffing role.
