Job Title: Ecological Project Lead

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ecological Project Lead to join our team at The Landscape Partnership. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior ecologist to take on a leadership role in managing projects, developing ecology services, and contributing to business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage ecological projects from conception to completion, ensuring delivery of high-quality results and client satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to promote our ecology services and grow the business.
  • Conduct preliminary ecological appraisals, protected species surveys, and other ecological assessments as required by projects.
  • Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary projects, working closely with landscape architects, arboriculturists, and other professionals to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Promote and develop our ecology services, including writing proposals, reports, and marketing materials.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure our ecology services remain competitive and compliant.

Requirements:

  • First or second-class degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
  • Full membership of CIEEM (Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management).
  • At least 3 years of post-CIEEM membership experience in a senior ecological role.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills.
  • Able to work efficiently, diligently, and effectively to reasonable deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Office software packages (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new tools quickly.
  • Experience in large, multi-disciplinary projects and protected species mitigation licenses.
  • Detailed knowledge of UK species and habitat legislation, and right to work in the UK.

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus benefits package including training, career development opportunities, and a safe and enjoyable working environment.
