Key responsibilities encompass addressing all facets of the patient’s and/or resident’s requirements through various engagements, such as offering companionship, accompanying residents to external appointments, contributing insights to the interdisciplinary team, and fulfilling other related tasks as necessary.
The ideal candidate must exhibit a strong commitment to promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, prioritize safety, and collaborate with all team members to enhance both worker and patient safety by incorporating safety measures into daily practices, recognizing potential risks, and executing improvements.
Physical Requirements:By applying for this position, you acknowledge an understanding that the regular responsibilities and demands of this role include (but are not limited to):
*Consistently moving/lifting up to 10-15lbs, regularly moving/lifting up to 50lbs; required to restrain/reposition/move/lift up to, or above, 50lbs with assistance from a co-worker and repetitively required to engage in pushing/pulling with moderate force (22-44lbsF).
*Constantly standing/walking. May need to work in awkward or confined positions to provide care. The role frequently involves reaching/stretching, bending/twisting, and repeated low-level postures such as squatting, crouching, or stooping.
*Potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and/or other contagions. May encounter patients/residents who pose a risk for aggressive behavior.
*Work environments may present potential exposure to scented/chemical products and/or other allergens in publicly accessible areas.
Essential Qualifications:
*Completion of high school with a diploma recognized by the relevant educational authority.
*Graduation from a personal care attendant program accredited by Central Health.
*Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
*Proven effective interpersonal and communication skills.
*Consistent demonstration of the core values of NL
