About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Investment Manager to join our Pensions Finance team at BAE Systems. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the governance and controls required for the valuation and reporting of a substantial portfolio of investment assets owned by the pension schemes.

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for ensuring all investment asset reporting requirements are delivered to stakeholders, including corporate and pension scheme accounting, and any other asset values for reporting or modelling purposes. You will also be expected to liaise with external auditors in relation to queries on investment asset reporting and disclosure requirements.

In addition, you will be responsible for the oversight of the valuation processes and the controls required to review the validity of private markets valuation statements for the relevant assets. You will ensure that policy complies with current requirements and manage all stakeholder queries in relation to investment assets.

This role offers a broad range of responsibilities and exposure to senior stakeholders and trustees of the pension schemes. You will work closely with outsourced providers and have the opportunity to put your own spin on the role and shape it to make a real impact.

Requirements
  • Fully qualified accountant - ACA, CIMA, or ACCA
  • Investment accounting experience
  • Experience with Pension Scheme accounting
  • Understanding of different investment classes i.e. property, private markets, derivatives, equities
  • Knowledge of accounting disclosure requirements for investment assets within corporate accounts and pension scheme accounts
