Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Learning Disability Nurse to join our team at Active Care Group. As a Regional Learning Disability Nurse, you will provide high-quality evidence-based specialist nursing support to individuals with learning disabilities within the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of learning disabilities services within the region through service visits, review of support plans, and clinical cabinets.
  • Collaborate with the PBS team to support services in training and implementation of individual PBS plans and interventions.
  • Initiate, lead, or participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of needs-led innovations within the region.
  • Ensure services are delivering person-centered care as evidenced by measurable clinical outcomes.
  • Promote positive healthcare and maintenance of good health through education of clients and their families/carers.
  • Participate in the setting, auditing, and maintenance of standards to improve resident care and service provision.
  • Provide clinical expertise to individuals with more complex health needs.
  • Provide clinical input and advice on health promotion/education and the prevention and minimization of disability.
  • Comply with and work within agreed protocols and practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Contribute to developing and reviewing current policies and procedures in conjunction with other colleagues.
  • Contribute to the development of clinically effective practice.
  • Support internal mock inspections of services.
  • Support the Group Head of Nursing and Regional Lead Nurses to implement the Group Nursing and Care Strategy.
  • Work within the professional guidelines of the NMC code of Professional Conduct and Scope of Professional Practice.

Requirements

  • Registered LD Nurse with current NMC Pin Registration.
  • A legal right to work in the U.K.
  • Evidence of continuous personal and professional development.
  • Passionate about providing high-quality care and the Patient and Carer Experience.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues.
  • Training and coaching skills to enable colleagues to provide high-quality care.
  • Ability to work independently and be accountable for autonomous decisions.
  • Previous post-registration experience ideally with working with individuals with complex needs.
  • Experienced and competent in the management of residents in social care settings.
  • Experience of coaching others particularly related to improving service quality.
  • Experience of working in a matrix organization.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
