About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Anaesthetic Practitioner to join our team at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a leading heart and lung hospital, we deliver care to over 50,000 patients annually in our state-of-the-art hospital in Cambridge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pre-surgery assistance to patients, including preparation of specialized equipment and drugs, ensuring their safety and comfort during anaesthesia.
  • Support surgical procedures by facilitating communication between teams and ensuring safe patient transfer post-surgery.
  • Effectively communicate with patients, colleagues, and caregivers, adapting communication methods to individual needs.
  • Adhere to regulations and procedures, prioritise and organise workload efficiently, and continuously update knowledge and skills.
Person Specification
  • ODP qualification or qualified nurse with a recognised anaesthetic course.
  • Ability to treat all patient/employee information confidentially.
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate information verbally which may be sensitive/difficult.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
