Job Summary

The Royal Papworth anaesthetic team is seeking dynamic professionals to join our team as Anaesthetic Practitioners. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and are committed to excellence in their field.

About the Role

As an Anaesthetic Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing pre-surgery assistance to patients, including preparation of specialized equipment and drugs. You will also support surgical procedures by facilitating communication between teams and ensuring safe patient transfer post-surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care and support, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during anaesthesia.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and caregivers, adapting communication methods to individual needs.
  • Adhere to regulations and procedures, prioritizing and organizing workload efficiently.
  • Stay updated with research findings, contribute to quality assurance programs, and reflect on clinical practice.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and organize work, provide clear instructions and support, and address poor performance effectively.

Person Specification
  • ODP qualification or qualified nurse with a recognized anaesthetic course.
  • Ability to treat patient/employee information confidentially, prioritize and meet deadlines, communicate sensitive information verbally, and work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work flexibly and evidence of working within a similar environment.
