Principal Designer Opportunity

Brandon James Ltd, a leading construction consultancy, is seeking a skilled Principal Designer to join their team in Newcastle. As a Principal Designer, you will play a critical role in managing design risks throughout the project lifecycle.

The Role

You will work closely with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure that all design and construction activities comply with the latest CDM regulations. Your responsibilities will include preparing pre-construction information, conducting design risk assessments, and reviewing construction phase plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare pre-construction information (PCI) to ensure compliance with CDM regulations
  • Conduct design risk assessments to identify potential hazards and mitigate risks
  • Review construction phase plans (CPP) to ensure safety and regulatory compliance
  • Lead projects from concept to completion, working on a variety of schemes across Newcastle and the surrounding areas
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a Principal Designer role
  • Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations
  • A background in construction, design, or architecture
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (essential)
  • Membership with APS or IOSH is desirable
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and lead project teams
