Head of CDM and Principal Design Opportunity

A leading construction consultancy is seeking a highly skilled Head of CDM and Principal Design to lead their dynamic team in Newcastle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of CDM Advisors and Principal Designers
  • Oversee the delivery of CDM services, ensuring high standards across all projects
  • Act as the Principal Designer on major projects, providing strategic oversight
  • Develop and implement CDM procedures and best practices within the team
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and design teams
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Lead on the preparation of pre-construction information and review construction phase plans
Requirements:
  • A NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
  • Extensive experience in CDM and Principal Design roles, ideally within a consultancy environment
  • Strong working knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations
  • APS or IOSH membership (desirable but not essential)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
