About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse to join our team at Wessex Children's Hospice Trust (Naomi House). As a Nurse in our palliative care team, you will provide high-quality care to children and young adults with complex health needs, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide palliative care to children and young adults with complex health needs, including symptom management and end-of-life care.
  • Develop and maintain clinical skills through ongoing professional development and best practice.
  • Work as a member of the multi-disciplinary care team, providing care, advice, and support in line with professional accountability.
  • Provide supervision and support to other team members, valuing their skills and qualities.
  • Ensure the safety and safeguarding needs of children, young adults, families, and staff are met, adhering to relevant policies and guidelines.
Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • 1 year post-qualification experience.
  • Experience of clinical supervision and reflective practice.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding procedures.
  • Ability to cope with stressful situations.
  • Enthusiasm, professionalism, positivity, and good work ethic.
  • Understanding of equality, inclusivity, and diversity principles.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • RSCN/RN Child or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Palliative care course or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children and young adults with palliative care needs.
  • Sound nursing knowledge and clinical skills based on up-to-date research and best practice.
