An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Ward Clerk position within the Division of Medicine at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will join a team of experienced ward clerks who support the delivery of excellent patient care by providing administrative support to the nursing and clinical teams across all wards.
Main Duties of the Job- Act as a point of contact for patients, relatives, and carers
- Provide a full range of general clerical and administrative and reception duties to support the ward, ensuring patient discharges and follow-ups are appropriately actioned
- Answer the telephone and deal with visitors to the ward
- Demonstrate an empathetic nature towards patients, relatives, and colleagues
- Possess excellent communication and organisational skills
- Be resilient and able to prioritise tasks and competing demands
- The post is very active and requires movement around the hospital with potential cross-site cover
