About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Ward Clerk to provide administrative support to our nursing and clinical teams across all wards. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our ward environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a point of contact for patients, relatives, and carers, providing a high level of customer service and support.
  • Provide a full range of general clerical and administrative duties, including answering the telephone, dealing with visitors, and ensuring patient discharges and follow-ups are appropriately actioned.
  • Demonstrate an empathetic nature towards patients, relatives, and colleagues, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Be resilient and able to prioritize tasks and competing demands, working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Support the delivery of quality care in a challenging environment, aligning behaviors with our Trust's Vision, Values, and Behavioral Compact.
Requirements
  • Good communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent keyboard skills and IT skills.
  • Experience in working with computers and previous experience of working within a clerical environment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, prioritize workload, and be willing to attend in-service training.
  • Ability to support delivery of quality care in a challenging environment and educated to GCSE Level 2 (Numeracy and Literacy) standard or equivalent.
