**Job Overview:**

We are seeking an experienced Renal Transplant Coordinator to join our team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust.

**Salary:** £44,766 - £70,305 per annum.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in renal transplantation and excellent communication skills. They will be responsible for coordinating the transplant process, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, and facilitating the matching of living donors and recipients within the kidney sharing scheme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide education about the donation process to enable donors to make informed choices.
  • Liaising with H&I labs to test DNA samples for tissue typing between donors and recipients.
  • Presenting potential donors to the multidisciplinary team for review.
  • Referring to the Human Tissue Authority to ensure legal approval for living donor transplants.
  • Facilitating the national reimbursement/loss of earnings policy for living donors.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable renal transplant experience essential.
  • Continuous personal, professional, and academic development.
  • In-depth knowledge of recent NHSBT strategies, legislation, and recommendations.
