Job Title: Donor and Recipient Matching Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Donor and Recipient Matching Expert to join our team at the NHS. This is a critical role in ensuring the success of our transplant program, and we are looking for someone who can provide exceptional support to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.

The successful candidate will have advanced communication skills, with the ability to provide specialist nursing advice and psychological support. You will be responsible for presenting potential donors to the multidisciplinary team for review, facilitating donors and recipients matched within the kidney sharing scheme, and liaising with other transplant centres to facilitate transportation of blood samples and information.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role, requiring the ability to prioritise workload and achieve a balance between clinical and other aspects of the job. In return, we offer a competitive salary of £43,712 - £56,585 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including professional development opportunities and sponsorship to attend regional and national transplant conferences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Present potential donors to the multidisciplinary team for review
  • Facilitate donors and recipients matched within the kidney sharing scheme
  • Liaise with other transplant centres to facilitate transportation of blood samples and information
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse with NMC
  • Counselling course
  • Possess a graduate degree in related area, working towards or be prepared to study at MSc level
