About the Role

The Financial Crime Manager will report directly to the Head of Compliance and play a key role in ensuring the effective management of the financial crime function. Your primary responsibility will be to provide support in investigations and evaluations of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), submit SARs to relevant law enforcement agencies as required, and maintain the SAR Register and PEP Register.

You will contribute to the development, maintenance, and execution of the annual Financial Crime Compliance Monitoring Plan, assist in the preparation and delivery of financial crime training, including e-learning updates, and provide relevant financial crime-related information for Committee meetings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Crime Compliance:
  • Support the Head of Compliance in effectively managing the financial crime function to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in investigations and evaluations of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
  • Submit SARs to relevant law enforcement agencies as required.
  • Maintain the SAR Register and PEP Register.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and execution of the annual Financial Crime Compliance Monitoring Plan.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of financial crime training, including e-learning updates.
  • Provide relevant financial crime-related information for Committee meetings.
  • Perform financial crime reviews and report findings to senior management and relevant Committees.
  • Monitor and communicate new regulatory requirements to ensure alignment with internal policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of financial crime policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Support preparation for regulatory visits and respond to requests from external authorities.
  • Assist in completing regulatory filings and financial crime-related returns.
  • Conduct AML reviews of new clients, with a focus on wealth management and private banking clients.
  • Undertake ad hoc projects as directed by the Head of Financial Crime Compliance.
  • Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to the Bank's Conduct Rules as prescribed by the PRA and FCA.
  • Maintain Fit & Proper status as required by the regulatory framework.
  • Comply with the Bank's policies and procedures, including GDPR requirements.
Requirements
  • Strong academic background; relevant professional qualifications are preferred (e.g., ICA, ACAMS).
  • Proven experience in a regulated financial services environment, with a focus on wealth management or private banking.
  • Expertise in financial crime compliance, including AML, sanctions, and anti-bribery practices.
