About the Role

As a Biomedical Scientist, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of better care, working in partnership with colleagues across Health and Social Care.

The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) is a key part of NHSS, providing specialized support laboratory services to enable NHS boards to focus on delivering health improvement and patient care. We are seeking a motivated professional to join our team in the Immunohaematology Reference Laboratory of the Glasgow Transfusion Centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct scientific research and analysis to support the delivery of high-quality services
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement laboratory procedures and protocols
  • Provide training and support to colleagues as required
  • Participate in a 24/7 shift roster to ensure the laboratory operates effectively
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a registered Biomedical Scientist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and have a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and protocols. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a team and participate in a 24/7 shift roster.
