Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our team at Northampton General Hospital. The successful candidate will have a special interest in Hand and Wrist Surgery and will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our Orthopaedic department.

Main Responsibilities
  • Participate in the Trauma On-call service on a 1:12 basis
  • Conduct elective and trauma operating sessions
  • Lead fracture clinics and elective clinics
  • Supervise and train middle-grade staff
  • Participate in departmental teaching meetings and present monthly mortality and morbidity statistics
  • Be prepared to participate in management duties within the department and the Trust

Person Specification
  • Full Registration with the GMC
  • FRCS (Tr+Orth) qualification
  • On specialist register for Trauma and Orthopaedics
  • Evidence of fellowship in Hand/Wrist Surgery
  • Wide range of experience in Hand/Wrist Surgery
  • Broad range of experience in general trauma provision
