Locum Consultant Orthopaedics with Expertise in Hand Surgery

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant Orthopaedics with a strong interest in Hand Surgery to join our team at Northampton General Hospital.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for participating in the Trauma On-call service, operating lists, ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and presenting monthly mortality and morbidity statistics. They will also be expected to supervise and train middle-grade staff and participate in departmental teaching meetings.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the Trauma On-call service
- Operate lists, both Elective and Trauma
- Conduct regular ward rounds
- Lead outpatient clinics, both Elective and Trauma
- Present monthly mortality and morbidity statistics
- Supervise and train middle-grade staff
- Participate in departmental teaching meetings

Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Full Registration with the GMC
- FRCS (Tr+Orth) or equivalent
- On specialist register for Trauma and Orthopaedics
- Evidence of fellowship in Hand/Wrist Surgery
- Wide range of experience in Hand/Wrist Surgery
- Broad range of experience in general trauma provision
