Job Title: Respite Care Worker
This is an exciting opportunity to support our established teams as a Respite Care Worker at Bradford Council. As a Respite Care Worker, you will be working with children and young people with complex health and learning disabilities, providing short breaks and supporting their socialisation and community interaction.
The role involves working in a multi-disciplinary team, providing care and support to young people with a range of needs, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Profound Multiple Learning Disabilities, and Profound Multiple Physical Disabilities.
You will be required to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, and be willing to undertake training and development as part of the role. You will also be required to support personal care needs and be willing to work with young people who communicate and interact with the world in their own unique way.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide care and support to young people with complex health and learning disabilities
- Work in a multi-disciplinary team to provide short breaks and support socialisation and community interaction
- Support personal care needs and work with young people who communicate and interact in their own unique way
- Undertake training and development as part of the role
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 in Care of Children and Young People or equivalent
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to nurture and support young people
- Willingness to work with young people who communicate and interact in their own unique way
