Payroll Manager Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Manager to join our team at The Recruitment Duo. As a key member of our payroll team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient processing of multiple monthly payrolls for 1500 employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process monthly payrolls, including starters, leavers, amendments, absence, overtime, statutory payments, and pensions.
  • Deal with discrepancies and serve as the primary point of contact for employee queries.
  • Support the monthly financial accounting requirements of the business, including report generation, producing weekly/monthly payroll journals, and reconciliations.
  • Oversee the running of the Company Pension Schemes.
  • Perform general payroll administration duties, including updating payroll records.
  • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages.
  • Contribute to gender pay gap reporting.
  • Daily use of Excel and SAGE systems.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience working in a busy Payroll environment is essential.
  • Experience in using SAGE is essential.
  • Knowledge of NEST pension scheme is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and small team environment.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to multitask.
  • Self-sufficiency to work remotely and unsupervised occasionally.
  • High standards of work with the ability to spot opportunities for improvement.

This is a part-time position working 25 hours across 3-4 business days. You will be expected to be in the office for your full working week when it's month-end to process payroll and be readily available to support employee queries.
