We are seeking a skilled Perinatal Mental Health Nurse to join our dynamic team at Jasmine Lodge, a purpose-built 8-bedded unit in Exeter, Devon. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work therapeutically with women, their infants, and their families to support recovery and discharge.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a commitment to working flexibly, and participate in the internal 24-hour, 7-day-a-week rota to meet the needs of people who use our services. This role is on a ward that operates on a 24/7 shift basis, enabling staff to qualify for unsocial enhancements in addition to their basic pay.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • RMN/Registered Nurse (Mental Health) with current registration.
  • A willingness to complete Trust Mandatory Courses (will be required to complete and undertake relevant Physical Interventions training with adjustments considered if required)

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of Adult and/or perinatal mental health nursing and the nursing process.
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1987 (including updates).
  • Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act & Deprivation of Liberty safeguards.
  • Knowledge of CPA (Care Programme Approach) and Multi-Disciplinary Working.
  • Understanding of Recovery principles in Mental Health.
  • Knowledge and understanding of both adult and children's safeguarding guidance.
  • To be able to work on the internal ward shift rotation which includes night duties.
