Job Title: Head of Children's Commissioning Service

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd, a leading recruitment agency, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Head of Children's Commissioning Service. This is a permanent position based in Medway, with a competitive salary of up to £81,485 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the service areas within Provider Services, developing relevant strategies, policies, procedures, programmes, and projects.
  • Maintain a strategic oversight of the council's new sufficiency plan, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure stability for children in care.
  • Oversee children's placements and serve as the interface between Children's Services and Commissioning, ensuring Children's Services has a comprehensive understanding of expenditure and its impact.
  • Contribute to the operational management and strategic development of the wider service as a member of the Children's Services Management Team.
  • Be accountable for the service area budget, ensuring effective monitoring and analysis of spend to deliver services safely within budget.
  • Establish clear targets and key performance indicators, driving continuous improvement and ensuring practice and values deliver positive outcomes for children, young people, and their families.
  • Assist and deputise for the Assistant Director of Children's Services and provide cover for other Heads of Service, as needed.
  • Participate in the senior management on-call rota.

Requirements:

Applicants should possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with a strong understanding of commissioning and children's services. A proven track record of strategic planning and budget management is essential.
