Job Title: Team Leader for Children and Young People

Job Summary:

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd, a leading recruitment agency, is seeking a highly skilled Team Leader to join our team. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing a team of experienced social workers who work with disabled children and young adults to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Line manage, support, and coach a team of experienced social workers to ensure they are equipped to safeguard and promote the best interests of disabled children and young adults.
  • Performance Management: Contribute to delivering the council's vision for Children's Social Care by ensuring objectives and priorities are realized.
  • Staff Development: Lead, manage, and motivate a staff team to enhance individuals' personal and professional development needs and contribute to staff retention.
  • Performance Oversight: Manage and oversee the performance of the team effectively using available team performance data to monitor standards and performance and ensure compliance with practice standards and procedures.
  • Financial Management: Contribute to the management of staffing budget for the team by approving and committing expenditure within your delegated authority, and monitoring and reporting commitments to ensure the budget is not exceeded.
  • Recruitment: Support the safer recruitment and selection of new staff, both within the team and across Children's Social Care to ensure staffing levels are maintained.
  • Service Delivery: Provide an effective service to disabled children, young people, and their families by ensuring assessments, statutory visits, and planned reviews are completed to a high standard and in accordance with statutory timescales.
  • Student Supervision: Supervise students on placement and Newly Qualified Social Workers in their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment, where appropriate.
  • Professional Development: Keep up to date with the Council's organisational policies, government guidance, legislation, research, and national trends in order to maintain the highest professional standards.
